Hey guys, i just got my Keeley Katana Boost in the mail on friday. Anyone else have one of these? It is EXTREMELY quiet and transparent. When you pull the knob, it has extra gain, and a fat boost. I like it, but im thinking it probably sounds a lot better with an amp that has passive tone controls. I am currently using a Bad Cat CubII.....i know, i know.....im hoping to trade it in for a Maz38 SR NR head in the VERY near future... Anyway, the Bad Cat has active tone controls so i dont think that's a good thing with this Boost pedal....when you turn up the volume on the boost, it seems to really mush out the drive on my amp. It's got a cool sound to it when you keep the volume around 5 or 6. I am using it in conjunction with my Maxon OD820 Overdrive and it gives it a nice boost for leads. I just KNOW it will sound much better with the Maz38. Anyway, just thought i'd spread the word......

Would you happen to have any clips? I've been seriously thinking of adding the Katana to my rig but I'd like to hear a few clips before I commit.

Hi prowler............no, unfortunetly i do not have any clips, nor will i ever have any clips. I sent the Katana Boost back today......dont get me wrong, it's a great pedal, extremely transparent and silent, but it just didnt mesh well with my badcat because my amp has active tone controls(yuck). I just didnt think the the whole thing through i guess. So i sent it back because i am going to trade my Badcat for a Maz38NR 2X12 combo, and i may need a little extra cash if the trade isnt even. And besides, i am not sure if a pure clean boost is what i really want/need anyway. I am starting to experiment more with using two overdrives for different textures, etc. I am thinking about getting a Maxon SD-9 Distortion in the near future to go with my Maxon OD820 Overdrive. Anyway......i CAN recommend the Katana Boost, it just wasnt right with my BadCat, and maybe not right for my needs, it was somewhat of a impulsive purchase anyway. ooops.....
