Reconfigured for the summer...let's see how long it lasts... Tell me about that AnalogMan delay pedal. It's a fantastic analog delay with two "channels," one being controlled externally by the Amaze1 for modulation, tap tempo, programming, etc. Some say it's too dark and while I can see/hear that it works for what I use it for. It's probably overkill...and I should probably buy a less expensive, single "channel" analog delay and sell this. I use a slap back for a handful of tunes and a long delay on one song. Like I said...overkill! :-)

It's great to see what everyone is using with their Z amps. I recently downsized from a bigger board to a Pedaltrain Nano with just my favorite pedals running into a 2x10 Mazerati. I love my swirly Mojo Vibe and miss not having it on the board....and then there's the issue of board space. I'd love to downsize...but my acoustic board is a Nano...I don't see my electric board ever being that small...no spot for the wah and volume pedals! :-P

There's always "one more pedal" that I want to add, but then I end up coming back to just my few favorites. Although, I have been looking for a wah that will live off the board. So far, the Xotic wah is the front runner but my decision is dragging due to paralysis by analysis, there's just so many options!

I didn't quite make it through whole summer before I decided to perform this major shake-up! I'm migrating to a Temple Audio Trio 28 and will replace the George L cables in favor of Pro Cables & Sound. We're starting a 5-night run Wednesday and that'll give me the time to firm up positioning. I finally got tired of 2.4Ghz wireless and went back to UHF / analog...it'll be here early next week. OFF WITH THE VELCRO!!! :-P

I've had Line6 and Shure wireless using 2.4Ghz and experienced interference and drop-outs for years in the venues we play. I had really good luck with my Sennheiser in-ear transmitter I bought 5-6 years ago so I decided a guitar wireless upgrade was overdue. I got the EW 500 ( link) after talking with my Sweetwater guy. It came down to the Sennheiser EW 500 (analog) and the EW-D (digital but still UHF). The extra money bought me more bandwidth and flexibility...and I figured it was time to step up my game.

It's good to see another Lightspeed fan. I've tried replacing mine several times and it always comes back! I'm curious if you owned the GE-7 before getting Mike to do the mods...can you compare and contrast?

They greatly reduced the noise floor and re-centered the sliders to be more mid-focused. I'll be interested to hear about he Analogman mod.

It's good to see another Lightspeed fan. I've tried replacing mine several times and it always comes back! I'm curious if you owned the GE-7 before getting Mike to do the mods...can you compare and contrast? The Lightspeed is to me what the Klon is to others. For getting a clean amp to sound like it's just breaking up without changing the EQ it's unbeatable for me. Far better than the Timmy or the Klon or any other "transparent" type overdrives. I actually have *three* GE-7s. One stock, one bought from Analog Man pre-modded, one bought from XTS/XactToneSolutions pre-modded. I used a stock GE-7 for a couple years before getting modded units. Of the three, I prefer the Analog Man, with the XTS as a close second. The difference between a stock unit and the AM mod is that the AM unit is significantly quieter if any of the bands or level is pushed and a little clearer in the midrange. Also, the unit can be run at 18v with Mike's mod. In my case I use the Truetone CS12 power supply, and my 9v taps are precious, having the ability to throw the GE-7 on an 18v tap is really sweet. I also run my Wampler Belle overdrive on 18v. This board is all taken up but the AC output, which I don't use. The difference between a stock unit and the XTS mod is the same improvements as the AM mod, however XTS definitely changes the bands to new locations in the frequency spectrum, heavily favoring the midrange and moving the bands to control the entire midrange with more focus. As far as the difference between the AM and XTS modded units - if you want a midrange notch cocked wah vibe, a Boston sound, or really want to poke through the densest mix with a multi-guitar band, the XTS could be preferable to the Analog Man. However I generally speaking almost always put the AM on the board as I *do* want to be able to control the low lows and high highs and just the typical mid bands. However both fix the terrible hiss and cloudiness on some of the bands, so that's nice. Both are very nice but for the majority of the time, I recommend the AM if you get a mod done. It's the stock GE-7 functionality you know and love, but shut up and sweetened out. Personally, I find it hard to go back to a stock unit for it's hiss, but if I didn't have the AM or XTS I'd still use one because it's such an important pedal to me.

I moved the wireless receiver to a 4U rack (off the floor HAS to be better!), added a GE-7 (soon to be sent to Analogman for mods) and put the Analogman delay back on. The Wampler delay landed on my acoustic board.

Would love to try a Lehle volume pedal and it’s always been on my wish list. I would probably need a bigger board though. I’ve had the Ernie Ball MVP, which I loved the sweep on it but felt like it was a ticking time bomb with the string, it also took up a lot of space. I’ve since switched to the Dunlop DVP4 and love the size and ability to utilize it as an expression pedal as well. My only complaint is the sweep on it starts half way through the pedals travel so it gives a more narrow field of progression and makes it a little difficult to ease into volume swells.

I love love love my Timmy but I'm trying out a Timmy-less board for a bit just for the heck of it. Really digging the new additions: LPD Eighty7, Diamond Boost/EQ, and PJ Gold.

Changed the noise reduction back to the Decimator 2. I may try a Fortin Zuul at some point. Switched the Sun Lion to the Tubescreamer, and added the Secret Preamp.

Tell us about the Dhyana? The Dhyana is an interesting pedal. I typically just use overdrives to push my amp a little harder and as a result, have gravitated towards pedals with high headroom and low compression (i.e. Timmy). I got the Dhyana because I wanted to try something outside of my wheelhouse just to see where it took me. This pedal really shines with the gain cranked and adds a lot of compression and sustain. I'm not sure what the circuit topology is, but as far as EQ is related, it can go from flat EQ to adding a ton of bass. I have found a lot of use for it fattening up bridge single coils and getting a great sustaining lead tone.
