It's a cool box, I had version 4 in a big box. Sold it for a cool 400 clams on Ebay. Cool box, but the hype will die down once he get the final version done and into regular production. It's not something I can't live without.

I just got a return email today. Mike says they should be building mine soon. I got on the list in July '04. If it ever shows up I'll let ya'll know. lefty says nothing he can't live without. No pedal's perfect. They're like women, a few you'll keep, most get old pretty quick.

billyguitar, This is almost to funny. You ordered ver 1 in 04. Ver 1 and 3 came out in 05, Ver 4 is for 06... And my guess is that I am scheduled for ver 6 in 07 the way things are looking. This is like the automatic trade up progam to the new model, except you never receive anything to begin with. It will be interesting to hear how we all pass judgement on the pedal once we get the chance to rev it up. Not that I am judgemental... or that there is anything wrong with that... Lefty, would you elaborate on your assessment of the pedal. I have noticed that you and I seem to have owned some of the same gear and generally agree on evaluations.

I don't understand Analogman's business plan. I'd hire some people and sell the dang things. Cash flow, baby! he is a nice guy though. i sent him that Hunter S. Thompson quote a while back and he put it up on his site. he sent me the disclaimers that he used to include with his products. wild, wacky stuff.

Well, the KOT has a nice clarity to it, no mid hump very well voiced. It could be almost considered dark...almost. It really doesn't have a lot of distortion on tap. My niggle was only one tone control and one gain, of course these are to be resolved with v.9 (just kidding). I always had the gain dimed, once again I hate to have ANYTHING dimed. I personally thought it sounded best with Fender voiced amps. And I like to have more distortion on tap than I will ever need (just incase). It really has a nicely voice tone control and gain. Personally I think a good 60-70% of the pedal is hype due to the lack of them being built. Once they get going you'll see a lot of them up for sale...just like the Zen Drive, OCD, Klon...etc.
Mike is a great guy, and makes great stuff, but I don't think he was prepared for the KOT on slaught.

yeah, I think that's clearly the case (prepared for onslaught), and when I put my order inI was playing Fenderish amps. I'm looking forward to adding it to the armoury here, but you know, I'm obviously not desperate otherwise I'd have no hair left.
