yesterday I was fishing around for some effects and I came across the Lovepedal COT 50.......Totally dug it as it matched that "cleanly overdriven" sound in my head.....
I have a gut feeling that this pedal will not sound the way it does in the "clips" as it will in person through my RT 66 since I have also found this to be true with other overdrives and the Rt 66.
My question is whether its because most of these pedals need a really clean signal to sound like they are suppose to sound..........The RT 66 can be clean, but not ever "twinlike" or "SuperRevlike"........it seems like it has such a dominant and characteristic tone already.......
My thoughts are that a model like the MAZ, that can be dialed pretty clean compared with a rt 66.......will take on the characteristic tone of a pedal like the COT 50 for example.........
any thoughts? am I on to something or completely lost?

I think the Maz38 would take a pedal like the COT 50 really well. The pedal is going for that plexi sound, so it might not give the same vibe with the Route 66. I think it can really goose the front end of the Route 66 and might give you some great tones. I have heard people getting great results with a clean amplifier and a driven amplifier with the COT 50. It starts to sound like a fuzz at its highest settings. So it might sound huge with the Route66. Remember it can get quite loud and it has a boost/overdrive quality to it. So it might sound great with the Route 66 set to a mild breakup and then use the COT 50 for all your various shades of dirty to cleanish. Give it a try and let us now what you think.
