Ok guys, I just finished up the paint for my BYOC Overdrive. I'm waiting on some parts from Small Bear Electrionics. I've got the board populated, all except for the opamp socket (I have a Mil spec one on order), the clipping diodes, and the caps for the mid/flat mid section. There I plan to put in sockets in order to do a little experimenting. I have some NOS Germanium diodes on the way...and some cool knobs and LED's. More news as it happens!!

Cool paint. At a guitar show I was talking to Rick (I think), the owner of SIB pedals. When he builds a demo pedal he said he does the paint and grahpics with a thrift store convection oven and powder coat. I saw some and you couldn't tell the difference between demo and production.

Unfortunately for me we threw out our old toaster oven when we moved!! It would come in real handy now. I have some friends who could of got it powder coated for me, but I'm sure it would have taken too long.

You should definitely do that. My powder coated toaster oven is the coolest thing I own. By far.

Looking good Lefty. More photos and a full review (with soundclips maybe?) when it is done.

Here it is with knobs. No LED yet. I sure do wish my parts would get here so I can button it up!

Man that looks good! No labels? You, the builder, will always know which is which.

Looks good Lefty. What type of paint did you use? If you wanted to label the controls, couldn't you make something on the computer? Then shoot it with a coat of clear. I have to admit it looks really cool the way it is.

Well, as of yesterday that paint is a thing of the past. I dropped it and the paint chipped...guess it wasn't completley cured. So now it's going to be a different finish. The paint in the pics is a hammer tone brown base with some black enamel "spritz" (clogged nozzle). I could make labels on my PC, but I just don't have time at the moment to make 'em.

Very nice Lefty - looks very retro, and the cream knobs really complete the look very well. I actually prefer my pedals without labels... I mean, stompboxes are pretty simple, so if you can't hear what a control is doing to the tone, it should be on the pedal in the first place! ;D I just like the clean look... A great paint job, and that's it! I decided for my trem the color scheme is going to be yellow/amber... I guess if you do that dremel wire brush type technique like I did on my first pedal, and then you use those fake annodize paints that you get at auto parts stores, that's how you get into the realm of creating the donnerbox-type looks. I can't decide what I like better; the box design work, or putting together the guts! Speaking of guts, let's see a pic of 'em!

Lefty, Let me know if you want any slide off decals, I can make some if you need. If anyone needs Strat decals I can provide them as well.

damn, that pedal looks sweet. I would go with no decals actually...I like the clean, bare naked look. I guess that's kinda a Lovepedal thing. Nice job, Lefty!
