Hi Rodeoclown, the pedal you seek is the Chicago Iron Octavian. It is a reproduction of the best Octavia they found. I have one and it sounds awesome. The octavia sounded the best and the most musical out everyone I have tried. Including the Fulltone and Voodoo lab. Here is a link www.chicagoiron.com/octavian_body.htmwww.chicagoiron.com/I hope this helps. Also they make a version called the Octavian Plus that you can have just the fuzz and switch in the octavia sound if you want. I prefer the simpler original version myself but you might dig it. Philip Sayce (Melissa Ethridge) really loves this pedal, and he is a huge hendrix/SRV fan.

I'm getting the KR Doubler... www.krmusicalproducts.com $159 if I remember correctly... the first audio sample sounds just like I am looking for, as well...

I ended up ordering a HomeBrew Electronics UFO. I'll let you know what I think. The sound sample on their website just nailed what I'm looking for. I tried a friend's Prescription Electronics Experience, and it's pretty cool: but you can't control the intensity and gain of the fuzz and the octave up only works when the fuzz is engaged.

By the way, I posted the original message without my specs and with several glasses of wine in me. Where the heck is my proofreader?

I bought Homebrew UFO a few months ago and after a week playing it I gave it away. I didn't like the octave effect because the sound became like I would add a lot of treble and highs and it was very annoying. If I turned fuzz all the way down I expected much more transparency from the pedal, instead the sound was closed and dark. Somehow I couldn't find the right combination to justify keeping it. Now I have MI AUDIO Neo Fuzz and I love it!
