you beat me to it....I've had a BYOC tremolo sitting in its bag for months now. I'm such a dork.
I think I'm afraid of my soldering iron in such tight spaces.

Howdy! That's totally tempting, thanks. I want to get over my solder reservations (I haven't gotten past cables and speakers), but I kind of wonder if this kit may be a bit too small/tight/critical for me at this point. Then again, the semi-satisfaction of a project completed, the satisfaction of a project completed well, and the bliss at a project completed that actually works....
I was too embarassed to buy a radio shack beginning electronics kit. maybe I should get over that ....
Hit me up when you're done, we'll see where my head's at. I'm obviously not in any hurry ;D

No sweat...try wiring up a tweed Bassman chassis! OUCH! I hate tweed chassis. Just get yourself a roll of cheap solder, a old radio and dig in. You can practice soldering/desoldering, and melt some stuff in the process!!

Dig in and get those pedals built guys! Terry, I was going to offer the same thing -- that I'd build your trem for ya! (partly to be nice and because I enjoy the projects, but also to get to hear how that trem sounds! ) I'm always on the lookout for a "better, more amp-like" trem... This Marshall VT-1 I'm using now has a really great tone, but it's got some LFO noise that's already irritating me... The byoc trem supposedly doesn't suffer from that because it's a transistor-based design. That will probably be my next project build, but I'm thinking about waiting until summer so I can actually paint the enclosure rather than just wire-brush dremel'ing it. I'm also strongly considering the PT-80 delay project from over at generalguitargadgets.com -- I'm kind of wanting to build a lighter gig board with that delay on it as an alternative to the increasingly heavy board with the Echoczar on it... Plus it's a digital delay that supposed to REALLY nail the analog delay sound, and I want to hear how close it gets! As requested I'll go take a pic of the guts of my tri-booster and post it up in it bit... Man, it's a bit of a cluster in there since there's basically three separate pedal circuits in one box~!

OK, here's the rest of the pics: Profile shot: This is the photoshop artwork I originally designed to use as a waterslide decal for the pedal, but after seeing less-that-stellar results that others have had with these graphics, I decided to skip it... I also designed this PEAK logo to put on the pedal, but decided to skip that as well, so I just slid it into the case instead. Here's all the guts: Component-side of the pc board: Solder-side of the pc board. And one last shot of the bottom plate before I stick velcro to it to permantly adhere this keeper to my pedalboard!
