I currently use a Boss NS-2 with my pedalboard with my Ghia, it does affect the tone, is there anything better to use, or should I just ditch it.

get rid of it , I hate them worse than guitar compressers. play louder than the noise

I gotta agree with bluz on this. I haven't heard a good gate yet. I'd probably go without. The MXR smart gate is probably the best, HUSH has the most effect on tone IMO. Have you shielded the guitar yet? That will help. www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/shielding/shield3.phpI'd also use a power conditioner, that helps a lot with the RF stuff esp on class a tube amps.

I currently use a Visual Sound OneSpot adapter to power the board, should I ditch this + the boss ns-2 and go with the Pedal Power voodoo labs thing, would that have a similar effect (as far as pedal noise goes)? I think the shielding is pretty good on the guitar. What's a good maker of power conditioners for the amp?

Furman and monster (as well as belkin and all the power bar manufacturers) make conditioners, I think the furman's are a bit cheaper and are specifically designed for guitar. For pedal noise the VHT valvulator I does a great job www.vhtamp.com. The site has descriptions and reviews. Highly recommended. I hope this helps

I use the Boss NS-2 and have my wah and dist/od pedals in the send/return loop and the rest of the pedals (delay, chorus ... etc.) after the NS-2. Yeah it does slightly change the sound but since I have a pretty heavy/high-gain sound it's a trade off between that and noise ... actually, the only noise that bothers me is when I turn my guitar volume down and can still hear the buzz so I have the NS-2 threshold setup to cut out the loop only when I'm not playing at all (have my volume-pot turned all the way down). My SKB PS-45 pedalboard has a conditioned and regulated PS so I run clean power to all my pedals which helps with noise when I'm playing. It's definitely not a miraculous noise-free solution but I do like it (over any other noise suppressor type pedal) for the send/return loop and the fact that it's just a noise gate and not a noise filter. As always that's just IMHO ...
