Looking for insight concerning a new or used reverberrerer pedal. ;D I ordered my Z without reverb because I didn't know how often I would use it.

I really dont like any rev pedals ,dont quite get there, I would just as soon use a good delay{T Rex}. Holy Grail is the best rev ,but it hums pretty loud, if they would fix that it would be a great pedal

My Holy Grail doesn't hum. I use the power supply that came with it. Things that make you go, huh!

I've been eyeballing the Line 6 Verbzilla, but have yet to come to a final verdict. I personally don't see using 'verb very much but it would be nice to have something reliable and that sounds good if needed.

Yeah, I'm hearing you guys. Unlike the devil who went down to Georgia, when I pull the bow accross the strings, I don't want it to make an evil hiss. Keep those insights flowing, though.

That's the one thing I want to avoid. I'm not one to appreciate my guitar sound accompanied by a slow leak. You should hear the buzz from the audience, not from your gear.

Bluzsteel: I think I got mine within 6 months of introduction. I haven't tried it in quite a while, maybe I should try it again. When and if I get around to hooking it up again I'll post if it hums or not (Holy Grail).

My HG doesn't hum or have any noticeable noise. I've had it about 4 months. I am using the power adapter that came with it. I will try it tomorrow with my DC Brick and see if there is any noise. So far I'm pretty happy with it. I think I read on the Analogman website they are now making them true bypass. This might be the reason for no noise now.

Lefty,
How are you powering the Verbzilla? I have heard that they have less noise when a dedicated power supply is used. I currently daisy-chain my power and have some concerns whether that would work with the Verbzilla.

Hmmm, good Q. I've never tried it with a daisy chain power supply. I've used it with Battery, Boss AC Adapter, and now have a Line 6 adapter for it. I only use it in my FX loop, and not on the floor with all my other pedals. But I'm sure as with any Digital device the mA draw is high and probably doesn't like to share power with anyone.

In front of an amp, I've found I much prefer a nice analog delay set to a short delay time than the reverb pedal options out there... Something like the old Boss DM-3's work great, and are still very affordable on eBay (like $130 or so).

I was going to try my Holy grail to confirm no hum but my sax player is using it to run a preamp for his electric violin. Don't know when I'll see that power supply back at my house.

The low level hum and hiss from my HG (with it's own supply) has been noted in at least five venues and home. Simply unacceptable I replaced it with a Kendrick Reverb tank and never looked back.
