Not the tone as much as maybe the simplicity of the Ghia versus higher power and more complicated circuit of the Maz
I have a 38 Studio Lead and a Ghia, and the Ghia has been my main amp since I got it this past spring. Certain rooms may need more headroom, but I've even used the Ghia on festival stages with 2x12 cabs and have had volume to spare.
The Ghia is a beautiful bone simple amp with amazing tone. Put the tone somewhere between 11:00 and 1:00, turn up the volume as far as you need to, add as many pedals as you need (within reason... I run about 8 pedals with no real added noise), and the tone is just there.
Maz requires a little more tweaking, and you can get them with effects loops (mine has one) if you're as insecure as I was about fornt of the amp noise problems. But the price doesn't reflect tone or quality anymore than the price of a pomegranate reflects the flavor of an apple. They're different, like children, with different qualities that are very bit as cool as the other's... but different.
