I'm just wondering If any one has tried one of these pedals through a Maz38? Thinking of getting one and am curious as to how it would sound. Their Sun Lion pedal looks interesting also!

My AM Sun Face sounds great through ALL of my Z's especially my Maz 18...I can only imagine it would sound great with the Maz 38.

I guess AM makes the silicon fuzz by request for the same price as the germ.(sun dial works the same, although unneeded, for different sounds). I'd like one with the NKT-275's. Now I just gotta' convince the wife.

I use the NKT-275 w/ sundial with my Mazerati. It's a great pedal. I also got the beano. They have ended up side by side in my chain. I should have gotten the sunlion. The beano works best before an overdrive and after the fuzz. An AM Juicer works well before the Fuzz also, it makes it more distorted and less fuzzy.

nickthestick,
Sounds like you have a nice rig. I had heard the sun face could ,maybe, not sound it's best through a clean amp, that the trebles could be too harsh. So I was jest woderin' if anyone had tried one through a Maz38 and how it sounded.

The NKT Sunface definitely sounds better the more cooking the amp is. Through my MAZ 18, it sounds best in the high gain channel with just a smidge of breakup. In the low gain channel, the amp needs to be cranked up more. Through my Rt 66, it rules again with the amp on the verge of break up or with it dimed!

A silicon fuzz will sound better through a clean amp.

I have a SunLion that I use with my MAZ 18. Just what I was looking for! It's not a crazy, over the top, fuzz. It adds just enough, for me anyway. I think it's the kind of fuzz Eric Johnson would really take to. Now add the Beano to that and it's a completely new sound. Joe

It's not on the AnalogMan website, still.

If you scroll down the home page @ Analogman.com the Sunlion is down there somewhere. I think that it's $335 or so. But $240 for the Sundial and $180 or so for the Beano is the other option. I really like both of them, and Mike says that together the are "greater than the sum of their parts." I'd get the Sunlion.
