Hello. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with either of these pedals. I am looking for a clean, or fairly clean boost for lead work.

Tim Jauernig's Luxury Drive! No fuzz, just a clean boost. and CHEA--err...INEXPENSIVE, too! I'm not much of a pedaler but I like this 'un. AND the Luxury Twin. COOL Twin-rate Tremolo. Greg Koch sounds great on his album w/ Tim's new DGTM (Diabolical Gristle Tone Manipulator) Handmade in Wausau, Wisconsin.

quinto, do yourself a favor and do a little research on the Burris Boostier. I absolutely love mine. IMO it sounds just as good as a Klon but is almost 1/2 the price. It's got 18V headroom, does great clean boost and can add just a tad of gristle if you need it. It's a tank and is also dead quiet. Another important feature is that there is NO bass response loss. It's FAT...

Thanks. I am going to look into both of them. I still am curious about the Katana Boost. Has anybody had any experience with one, good or bad.

thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=116090I really like the Hellbaby. I was told by Bob, who builds them- or did before they were discontinued, that it is a similar circuit to the Jack Orman booster circuit that I believe the FatBoost is based from. I know the Bad Bob boosters and such are using this design. However, instead of JFET, Bob chose Op-amp for a smoother high end. I find that it works REALLY nicely for pushing my Carmen Ghia. Also, if just pushing it is not enough, you can use the "boost" knob to add grit. It is not like an overdrive grit, but a unique type of "grit" that seems to hit the amp harder. Very cool. It boosts the midrange as well, which is pretty much where the guitar is in the tonal spectrum. The link above is for an ad I found on The Gear Page, it's only $95... Seems like a good deal, although I think Tonefactor.com has 1 or 2 left in stock. Bob and Brad (of Tonefactor) are very knowledgeable and helpful. The Hellbilly is a fun one as well.

The Fat Boost has 30 dB of clean boost, if that helps with your decision at all.

I got a fat boost. It gives me a big clean boost if I want it. I usually use it to boost my distortion channel on my Shiva for more gain, but with a clean amp channel it's amazing. Lots of sustain, the tone is huge with plenty of clarity and low end. It's very transparent when it's turned OFF as well.

I've been using the Keeley Katana with my Maz 38, using a strat. Love it. Very transparent. Gives me a nice boost for solos. The pull-out switch with the bottom boost really accents some tones for me. I really like it. Give it a whirl if you can.....
