I just picked up a Keeley TS-9 Plus the other day and I had a chance to A/B it with my modded 808 RI that I modded myself (some of the Keeley TS mods). And believe it or not I preferred my 808. I compared the circuits, and with mine all I did was change out one cap (for more bass), and couple resistors (for more gain), and added an IC socket and a TI 4558 chip (same one in the Keeley). The 808 is a little less smooth, more TS high end retained and a little more gritty than the TS9. To me the TS9 seemed to be a little muddy, less open sounding especially on the neck pup. The 808 had the same amount of gain and volume...funny eh?

Do you have any experience with the AnalogMan mods? I've got the modded SD-1, and just wondering how it compares to the others.

Not with any of his TS mods. I've only got a DS-1 Pro, NKT-275, & Mini Clone Chorus at the moment. But I would like to hear the TS/Silver.

I don't have a way to let you hear mine, or I would. I can say that it is exactly as Mike describes it. With all of the controls set at about 10:00, it's very cool. It's got a really nice clarity and presence. With the tone knob dimed, it gives it a little more edge, and something I found useful in a larger room or outdoor setting.
I would like to try the Keeley just to see what the differences are. Also thinking about a Fulltone, but I've got to get a new amp first. BTW, I checked out your website. Pretty cool.
