I ended up with T Rex Replica. it is really the best Ive ever heard I tried one out today just for grins and I wish I hadn't. Man that is one creamy, smooth, warm, and lush delay. My Line 6 has been reliable and serviceable. but it don't sound nothing like the T-Rex. WOW! $430.00 OUCH!! I guess you get what you pay for...... ;D

I like my Deluxe Memory Man, which will be even better when I have re-cabled everything, because with my new switching system, the DMM's output is indpendent and can be layered in the mix parallel to clean, dirty and looped signals. All four signals can be sent to my Dr. Z, or through an E-H POG, Walco Chord & Note Sustainer->Champ II driving '63 Leslie 120 cabinet for organ emulation, or both. I should have a lot of different sounds at my disposal, largely in part to being able to manipulate the stereo outs on the DMM (as I plan to do to my great advantage with a Red Witch Deluxe Moon Phaser sometime next month!).... But it's a great pedal, with lots of weird extra options in addition just delay. Minimum delay time is good for "key click" type sound with the organ stuff.

I've been using a Visual Sound H2O Liquid Chorus/Echo (I use the chorus side for a Leslie sound and the echo side has a very warm analog sounding delay). I've been very happy with the pedal, but being a delay junkie and really wishing I had tap tempo, I ordered the T-Rex Replica and it should arrive this week. From what I've heard and read, you really have to keep in mind that the T-Rex is like having a studio quality rack delay unit in stompbox form. When you think of it that way, $400 + isn't too bad. It all comes down to what's important to your sound, if delay is important then don't skimp on a cheap pedal. Delay is important to me so I bit the bullet.

Keeley is now modding the Line 6 DL4 and MM4 pedals. Costs $100 and gets rid of some of the RF noise and solves the volume drop problem when you turn on the pedal. I'm getting my DL4 done, should be here in about a week. I'll let ya all know if it was worth it.

I checked out their website and was impressed. Let us know what you think especially after you've had it for a while. Have you played a T-Rex, and if so how do they compare? Thanks Harold

bluzsteel, I just got back from vacation last night to see my newly modded DL4 sitting in my living room from Keeley. I couldn't resist plugging it in at 11:00 p.m. ! It was sitting in my closet before I sent it to Keeley, but now I love it. No more volume drops, it's a lot less noisy and is overall a way more effective pedal. For what it's worth I highly recommend having the mod done to this pedal. First time dealing with Keeley and it was a pleasure. Congrats on the T-REX

Played with the DL4 more last night. The mods that Keeley do are great, and the pedal sounds good, but only with clean guitar sounds. There is some sort of phasing thing going on with my origional sound, the delay notes sound good, but my dry signal has something funky going on with it. Also it sounds like it is hitting my FX loop a LOT harder than it used to, almost distorting. Thought I would do a follow up for anyone interested, it's a nice pedal and a nice mod. For certain sounds.

Thanks Harold Never tried the T-Rex but the more I play the Memory Man the more I think I'll never need another Delay pedal. Love the switchable Modulation function .. it's like adding a slight chorus to your sound, and it's quite easy flicking the switch to tap mode when needed. One of it's best features IMHO is the Tone control ... finally I can adjust how "warm" do I like my Delay to be. Cheers, I.
