I'll have to hear one again. When I tried a friend's (through his ÷13 oso admittedly not my style) I didn't dig it at all.

Oh so this is the small one, the Timmy?
Hmm. Not a chance to try that. But I hate to find something ELSE I gotta have.
Saving for either a Rt66 or KT45 to round out my amp selection ;D

Smokes with my Z-28! Less mid hump than the OCD, it has more of a clean boost feel with gain too boot. Less distortion than the OCD though, which is ok ;D

I used a Tim for quite some time...traded it for a TMB...wich is a cool boost is itself....but the Tim pedal was a great match with my Maz....better than other amps I tried it with.
A Maz and the Tim pedal are a great match..imo.

I imagine the Tim, or Timmy, would be a good match for about any amp. Lefty--I was curious as to why you didn't care for the Tim but love the Timmy. I haven't tried the Timmy, as I'm happy with the Tim, but I thought the two were supposed to sound the same.

Hi, Just a heads up on Pauls phone number: Its 615-896-8555, not 615-895-2555 . I am expecting mine, hopefully by end of next week. Paul has been an absolute gentleman and a real pleasure to do business with!

The cost of the Timmy is right around $99.00 & there is a long wait. I just got mine and I waited about two and a half months for it.

Thought I'd revive the old Timmy thread - I got mine last week and gigged with it for the first time tonight. I REALLY like this pedal! I've been A/B'ing it with all of my OD's and it's just more open and clear sounding. The EQ totally rocks, too. I love having a pre-overdrive bass control to tighten things up. I'm using one of those Burr-Brown chips (can't remember the exact number) right now, but the stock one sounded great, too. I run it with both dip switches off (least compressed). I've already called Paul and gotten on the list for another one. I've got a Zendrive coming soon, so I can't wait to see how they play together. It stacks really well with my other OD's, too. Everyone here still loving theirs?

I like my Timmy but I find that I prefer the overdriven tones to come from my amp. I still use my Timmy but I now use it as a lead boost rather than my rhythm tone. All in all a great pedal.

I just couldn't dial the Timmy in to the sound I wanted. I a/b'd it half a dozen times with my Gainster and the Gainster just did it right. The Timmy is a terrific build, and I'm sure that the amazing tones are in there with some amps and for some ears, but it didn't do it for me. Then again, neither did the Zen Drive, so consider the source...

I still have my Timmy. To be honest I don't find it as open as my Luxury Drive which is a boost, I know but that does low OD better IMO. But the Timmy into the LD is phenomenal and so is my power screamer into the Timmy. I find it works great in conjunction with other pedals. I do prefer it on my neck pickup though with light OD for some jazzy or Hendrixy stuff. It's an extremely flexible pedal and something you have to experiment with for awhile.
I see why some people don't like it. It can be kind of high endy and doesn't have a lot of gain. Some people find it harsh too. I have the Burr Brown chip in mine too which smooths it out some.
You have to have your amp set up for some crunch. I find I use its volume control more than the gain to get a sound. It boosts an already crunchy amp just great.
