Just heard that my Galaxie head and new style 2x10 cab will be coming in this week. I can't sit still I'm so excited about this amp. I'll post a complete review once I get some time on it. Can't wait to play through this thing.

I am having good thoughts about that new 2x10 cab as well.

Hey dock66, I'll let you know what I think of that cab. I just got a call from my dealer today and the amp/cab are in. I'll be picking them up tomorrow, and hopefully can spend a good amount of time on them tomorrow night. I was originally just going to get the combo version of this amp, but the new cab design really got me interested. Plus I think my other amps will sound great through it as well. Should be a nice option to work between that and my 1x12 Z cab.

OK, so I spent all weekend playing around with the new Galaxie, and I've got some initial impressions. First of all, let me just say that the new 2x10 cab rocks. I love this new design and it sounds awsome with the Galaxie and my RxES. Very cool! Now onto the Galaxie. The clean channel is very Fendery sounding and works great with my Strat. It does't get too dirty, even cranked up all the way, but does get a nice little edge of grit tone. Perfect for really digging in the strings when you want some drive, but cleans up beautifully. The drive channel caught me totally off guard. I wasn't expecting this much gain. Brings back my days of doing more of the modern rock stuff. I was getting convincing Guns N Roses tones on this channel and that with a Strat. Can't imagine what a humbucker guitar would sound like here. This channel is taking me a little more getting used to, but it really does retain note definition even under heavy OD. Very unique tone, especially for a Z amp. I'm still experimenting with settings, but so far I really enjoy playing through this amp. My next project is to run the Galaxie and RxES together to see how that sounds.
