i'm about to get an air brake but just wanted to know if it works okay with a dual rectifier 3 channel solo head.
i was about to get a THD hotplate but the air brake looks like the better choice!

I think it will work great with any tube amp, but they are all a little different. The Mesa "model" is to develop distortion in the preamp, so you may not have ever heard power amp distortion from your amp (depending on how loud you play). So how well the Airbrake works for you is going to depend a little on how your amp sounds when the power amp is cranked up. Most tube amps sound pretty good in this mode, assuming the power amp is working right and the tubes are biased correctly. I would think you'll have a similar experience.

Go to the Dr Z site and check the dealer list there. I think Mass Street Music has one but I could be wrong. www.massstreetmusic.com
