Hey any of you guys/gals experience this........I couldnt figure out what was going on with my Monza 1 x 10 combo....our bass player made me a utility cab and I placed my Monza on it , I figured get her off the floor to hear some of that Monza goodness.....
It sounded pretty bad. I actually ordered a set of tubes from Eurotubes, it sounded like something was wrong with the tubes.....
I played around with it for a couple of hours and then it dawned on me..........I put the Monza back on the floor and BAM!!...Monza tone and bottom end to die for.....
Anybody else have this experience?

Try one of these - it offers more support, but does the same job ;D standback.net/

I have mine sitting on top of a 1x12 extension speaker but it does sound better on the floor for sure. Sometimes when you elevate a speaker you get to hear too much of the center of the cone and that can be too bright or harsh sounding. Poster above had it with the bass reflex, down on the floor you some reflection and that can smooth out what you hear. I know guys that have tried kick back stands and have the same complaint, too harsh sounding. Put it on the floor, turn it up and enjoy it! Todd

Put it on the floor, turn it up and enjoy it! Todd you can learn to hear it that way. It's a lot better for your hearing too.

I've always wondered about this product for open back combos: www.soundenhancer.com/the_enhancer.htmIt would seem that it would increase the low end response considerably. Anybody tried one of these?

My mini z is the same way. I converted to the 1x10 cab and noticed it did not sound nearly as good on top of my 1x12 as it did on the floor.
I also notice it sounds a lot different outdoors too. I think it is the cab more than anything.

I've tried the sound enhancer on several different amps. It's always an improvement, moreso with some amps than others. Unfortunately, the company is closing out its current inventory and it is uncertain whether or not they will come back with a redesigned product.
I am using a Mini Enhancer with my Monza 1x10 and it works great, though its a bit unstable. A Small Enhancer would fit the amp better.

I usually lean my Monza against the back of the stage, or a wall or something available, and it does sound best this way for sure.

Try one of these - it offers more support, but does the same job ;D standback.net/This is a great accessory, folks. Weighs nearly nothing, fits easily in a gig bag, back of a combo amp or even a pedalboard case. Simple to set up, keeps the floor coupling and allows you to hear more of your amp without needing to bring the volume up a lot. Owned and recommended.

Thank you Doctorice I have decided it sounds so good on the floor that I really do not need a stand. Thanks again.

I recall a quote from a forum member, "put it on the floor and let it roar". Add a good tilt back angle to spare the audience and soundmen don't seem to complain as much so it can be turned up a bit more.
