I know it's kind of self-defeating getting a road case for a grab n go amp, but I was just curious if anyone has a good road case/gigging setup for their Monza?
While I'm (to borrow a line from the Velvet Underground) "Waitin' For My Man" to score me a Monza, I'm trying to figure out a good gigging setup. My Maz 18 head + road case goes over 50lbs (plus cab & case), so I'm thinking soft cover to save some road abuse. I prefer using road cases to set amps/cabs on to get them up off the stage & closer to ear level for backline - that's a bit ciritical with a small amp like the Monza IMO.
So for those of you gigging with Monza, are you using any cases for transport or stands/cases to get it up off the floor? Or is that uncessary given the volume that the Monza puts out?

Studio Slips padded clamshell cover works great for me. I suppose it's not as sturdy as a road case, but my gigs are "drives" not "flies" so it's more than adequate.

What he said, doctorice. I use the cover that came with my Fender PRRI, it fits good enough for stashing in the trunk of my Caddie. I usually just lean the amp on the back wall of where I'm playing, instead of carring an amp stand, it's simpler this way, and quite effective. Studio slip may be in my future, because I have one for my CG head/Avatar Vintage, and they are very nice.

For the other part of your question: Floor, standback amp stand or on an equipment bin or a chair. Have done all of these. No strong preference.

I have them for all my Z amps, and Susan will add a Z logo to the outside of the case, which looks really cool They're great cases, but as Mike says, not flight cases. Cheers Pete ;D

I hope this isn't thread hijacking, but it's probably relevant for the original poster, too, so I'm thinking it's probably Ok.
I'm about to get a StudioSlips clamshell case myself and wondering what the current thinking is on double padding? My gigs are all drives and not flies, too, though some of the drives have all of our gear in a trailer we pull and other times it's the trunk of my car. Is the double padding really helpful?

Chris,
I've only got regular padding. My gigs are almost always local (within 25 miles of home) with me hauling my own gear, so I opted not to go for the double thick stuff.

Humbucker Music sells the Studio Slips with the "Z" logo for $69. I bought my Monza from them, but didn't get the cover at the time. They say it's 69 at the time you buy the amp. I'm thinking of maybe ordering one from them, and see if they honor the $69, since I got the amp from them last month. Anyway Karma to HB Music, they did me right.
