And am swimmin' in all kinds of cool tones! What a great design. I haven't been this "amp'd" to get out and play in a while...just what the Dr. ordered I guess. Just plugged the head into the speakers in the Maz Sr (212 w/Weber Silver/Blue Alnicos) and WOW! Let the ears rest for the day and pull the G12H30/V30 212 out tomorrow. With this head you could gig with a hum and single guitar, tuner, compressor, RC Booster, delay and play a 3-4 hour show. Will have to get some clips soon...wow. Can't stop grinnin! Mostly like this: ;D

Plugged the head into the G12H30/V30 cab and good grief is it loud! Much more output than the Alnico pair. Much more aggressive - brighter top end, more grind and meatier/punchy/tight bass. Great rock setup! I think I prefer the Alnicos - like their musical nature and softer take on the tones. Fits what/who I'll be working with a bit more. Just need another 212 cab now. Don't want to drag my Maz Sr along for the ride just to plug into the speakers. Oh, this is going to be a fun time exploring all the tones hiding in this thing! ;D

Congratulations!! I love my 6545 and can not believe how great both sides of the amp are. I am using Weber Alnico Thames with mine and love the sound. I used ceramics before but the alnico speakers suit me better.

Major gas! I just pulled the BIN trigger on a used 6545 head on Ebay last night or was it just a dream. I'm already having anxiety attacks, because I haven't heard a peep out of the seller...it's only been 14 hours! Help!

This is one of the coolest setups I've fooled with in a while. Still love my other Z's, but I love what this head can do!!!

Thanks, Dan and congratulations to you as well.
I can't wait to get it after reading about the great sounds you're coming up with.
I don't have any 2x12 cab. I have a 1x12 with a 60w V30 that should handle it for the most part, if I don't get too crazy. You've got me thinking about the Weber alnico's or ceramics, though.
I haven't been able to get much response out of the seller about whether there's a tube rectifier in there or not. I like the sag.
Can't wait!!!!!

I have a stock sovtek in mine - 5AR4. It's great. If you have a solid state rec, just run down to a local music store and pick up any 5AR4 Mesa/Sovtek/etc. Pull one out and put the other in. Spent tonight jammin again...yummy! ;D Thanks, Dan and congratulations to you as well. I can't wait to get it after reading about the great sounds you're coming up with. I don't have any 2x12 cab. I've also jumped in... the waters mighty fine. I made a swap with Steve (Benttop) for his 6545, which he took very good care of and is a great guy to do business with! The 6545 is a very cool amp. I've not had much playing time with the beast yet. I did get to push the amp a bit. ;D The KT45 side is way cooler than I'd thought it would be, the chime is what surprised me and have always liked EL34 tubes. The 6545 brings out the best in those el34s, clean and crunch and all in one amp! Of course I had high expectations for the SRZ65 side and amp equally pleased. All Z amps are great! ;D

La la la not listening.... ;D Man I really think this is my kinda amp. I've always loved and played EL34's before my 66 and in covers land (or anything else really) this amp would do everything for me. I think my thing would love it too. So, like I've said before... Rt 66 Ghia for small clubs 6545 for variety and I'd be done. Really. ;D

My thing loves it! Jaye, what can we do to help built up that 'Down Under' Z Brotherhood so you can do some Z horse trading to keep you and your thing happy. Keeping it all in the Z family of course...

Thanks Dan. I got to spend more time with the 6545 today. Whoa - talk about a low end whallop with the master at 11:00+ on the SRZ side. The SRZ side is also very good at clean to dirty using the guitar volume control and touch. Dare I say, maybe even more than my ghia or 66s! I'll catch it for that comment. Let us know how the session turns out. BT is now the proud owner of a RXES and 1x12 Mesa cab. He's got a nice comparison clip with the RXES and Stangray. Check it out. drzamplifiers.proboards41.com/index.cgi?board=soundfiles&action=display&thread=1173590355&page=1
