Well, pulled the plug on Monza 1x10 and Ghia head today. What little beauties ;D That Monza is LOUD LOUD LOUD!!! (even with BL set on full). And it's much darker than I thought it would be. Question: can I daisy chain BLs? (don't laugh, it was a serious question ) I can't see any reason why not, but I need to be able to let the V and D on the Monza rip to get to the sustain/ dirt I'm looking for, but then the volume difference between it and a clean Ghia is way too great. So I'm thinking BL between Monza and Headbone; then another BL between Headbone and speaker - any problems doing that? Must try this rig with a lesser output guitar, like my standard Strat - the EC Strat blows the head off everything Cheers Pete (with a great big stupid grin ;D ;D ;D )

Yup, dark and loud. My experience also. A speaker change can brighten it a bit.

Hey congrats!! The Monza is Loud.......but its interesting, the volume comes on quick and after about 12:00 it just gets more saturated and not so much louder. Even with the band I have the BL on 2. Its kind of cool, if I want more clean headroom, I dont use the BL, if I want more dirt I click the BL up more notches accordingly.
Where the Ghia's volume is different, it doesnt come on so quickly and after about 3;00 it seems like it saturates more and doesnt get any louder. I dont use the BL much with the Ghia because I want the clean headroom.

WHAT'S THAT PETE. I CAN'T HEAR YOU. I'M PLAYING MY MONZA!
Congrats on the new girlfriends! Ignore my post over in the MAZ 18 section.
Eager to hear more about the CG once you settle in and work it.
Mike
PS: I don't see why two BLs set up as you describe wouldn't work, but maybe check with the gang in Cleveland.

Thanks guys!! (I HEAR YOU MIKE, BUT ONLY JUST !!! I'm gonna have to live with the Monza a while - I like a brighter sound to cut through more, and even with the BL up full, the band are yelling at me to turn down! I guess we play a MUCH lower stage volume than a lot of you guys up here. We'll see........ I'll check with the good Doc and see what he says about the double BL thing. That might just save the day ;D Cheers all Pete ;D

Pete, I would guess that even if a double BL works, it is really going to adversely affect the tone of the amp. I had the same challenges dealing with the volume of the Monza. The Weber Blue Pup seems to tone down the loudness a bit, and since it is a bit brighter speaker I've been able to turn the volume knob down considerably on the amp and with the BL get it to a reasonable overall volume level that works with my band and tone that works for my ears. All said, the amp is still an "acquired taste" for me. I guess that I just like brighter, more "polite" overdrive amps more. But the Monza is growing on me.

Checked out the Blue Pup and it's not cheap, and even harder to get!! Direct from Weber will take 3-4 weeks, plus shipping plus import duties - gulp! But hey, I'll tame that little hooligan one way or another. We'll learn to get along just fine Pete ;D

Cheers Mike. Bit the bullet and ordered the Blue direct. 3-4 weeks is fine for me as the next few gigs are all fine for the Ghia on her own Pete ;D
