Hey all, I got together with my drummer and bass player last night for a jam session. I brought out my little red monster for thier listening pleasure I was running my Monza volume at 11 and drive and tone at midnight and needed to keep my brake lite at 3 to keep the volume managable. I picked up an ABY box from Road Rage (very cool by the way!) and I was running both my Monza and Maz Jr together. Wow, was that cool!! I had some excellent articulation and drive from the Maz Jr and then Monza added a very nice beefy growl to the mix. I would switch them both on for solos and really enjoyed some amazing sustain and nice controlable feedback swells. Needless to say, I had a blast! The guys enjoyed the tone too with several comments on how good my rig sounded. At one point, Joe (bass player), was showing us a song he wrote and was playing my guitar. I stepped out of the sanctuary and went down the hall to make some copies and it sounded great A L L T H E W A Y D O W N T H E H A L L too! so much fun . . . Todd

Sounds like a splendid time, Todd. I've been meaning to try that setup myself. Got to get a couple gigs out of the way first, then we'll see

Funny-I'm running almost exactly this setup at home. MAZ 18NR head/cab semi-clean, w/ RC Boost to round off the top and bottom, Monza 112 combo set pretty dirty (d2, v11, t9, BL2) Road Rage buffered ABY. A little reverb on the Monza! Delay available for the MAZ. Switch off the RC and hit the Zen, you've got two Monzas. It's a monster rig--big, big tone from these small amps.

Have fun, but do protect your hearing

Tell me more - everyone seems to have gone for the 110, but there's something about a 12 I like - more air and low down grunt! What 12 is it? Pete ;D

Good point Todd! I have got to do a 1x12 and 1x10 head to head I guess. My Maz is a 1x12 and I love it (G12H30) now it's broken in. My Tiny Terror has the same speaker, so I guess I'm just familiar with it. However, weight is an issue! My Maz is just about as heavy as I want to deal with, so if the Monza 1x12 is heavier, then 1x10 will be by choice Waiting for English John to get his next consignment of stock next week to go an play. Pete ;D

G12H30 in the Monza 112, too. Sounds great, and weighs a bit less than my MAZ 18 112.

I was talking to my local dealer, English John, and he reckons once I hear the 1x10, and feel the lack of weight, I'll not even consider the 1x12. He's got both arriving next week, OH YEAH!!

Hey fleabiscuit, according to the data sheets, the 1x12 Maz18 weighs 47lbs, whereas the 1x12 Monza weighs 50lbs!! 50lbs? ? Surely not! The 1x10 Monza is only 37lbs. there can't be a 13lb difference in the speakers alone, so I guess the can must be a fair bit bigger too? Pete

Pete The 1x10 is fitted with Doc's proprietary anti-gravity device. It's disguised as a Brake Lite, but I know the truth ;D

Pete Hey Pete, As folks in the MAZ forum have pointed out, the MAZ 18 don't weigh no 47 lbs. Mine's 50+, for sure--shockingly heavy for such a small amp. The Monza 112 cab is the current standard Dr. Z combo--same size as a Maz 18. The Monza 110 is about 6 inches narrower and 3 inches shorter than the 112.
