I have just recently purchased a BOSS GT-8 multi-effects amp modeler/effects processor. I would like to try and get a tone similar to Brad Paisley's Z-28 tone he uses; something similar to the tones he uses on songs such as "The World" and "I'll Take You Back". Any ideas as to what amp type to use, what amp tone settings and stompboxes/effects I might try to get somewhat close to this type of tone on my H-S-H strat-type guitar? Thanks.

Hmmm... Could be a tough one. First off, the Paisley sounds you hear on record are primarily single-coil sounds. A Tele is the easiest path, and a traditional S-S-S Strat will get you in the ball-park. Do you have a coil-tap to get to a single-coil bridge sound with your Strat? If not, the 'buckers might be a little too thick and not have the chime you need....

I do have the middle single-coil pickup on my guitar, as well as the GT-8 has a H->S simulator that might help. I thought the amp model I use, the tone settings, and the effects might be more important to get to that type of tone than the pickups, but I may be wrong.
