Hey...I'm a new member and a new Z-28 head owner...loved it in the store, loved it at home. Then..took it to the gig at a house party...plugged in my tele...and...OH MY GOD...these amps are just so sweet sounding...barely at 12 o'clock but with the treble brought up for a bit of dirt, my guitar had so much presence and, yes, warmth, i did not want to take a break all night...chords were chimey and clear, solos were kinda naughty sounding and flirty...kept tellin me i I was better than I really am....I think I have to quit my day job now and just find gigs as I am addicted...yes, addicted to this tone....THANKS Good Doctor...this is what guitar playing is all about!!! ;D

Thanks for the kind welcome! I have a blonde/ oxblood head and am a bit undecided about which cab to get. For now, I'm using a Fender 2x12 8 ohm (maybe from the 80's??) with two celestion G 12 M 25 watt 16 ohm speakers. Is that good?? Sure sounded good to me...and it is LIGHTWEIGHT!!!!

Doc likes Greenbacks with the 28 so it's probably a good match! If you love it, it works! Enjoy, the 28 is a very cool amp.

Play with those tone controls a lot...you'll be amazed at the different sounds they offer up with just a minor tweak here and there in conjunction with the volume...both amp AND guitar.

I used my CS Nocaster...thought it would balance nicely against the SG on the other side of the stage...i didn't touch the amp controls all night...but played with the guitars volume and tone and was rewarded with a pile of different sounds. Plus...and has anyone else noticed this...when i switched to the bridge pickup, the amp just Screamed in a very musical way...bright and edgey, almost like i hit the fat pedal...
