Maybe I'm just in a worrying mood lately, but I've been wondering if I'm okay using my G12M/G12H Z Best with the Remedy operating at full power. (Swapped out the V30 in the Z Best for a Greenback about 20 min after I bought it. ) I've always figured that the speaker swap only dropped the cab's handling power 10W, from 60 to 50, and at 50W I've still got 25% more than the Remedy's 40W rating. However, I know that many tube amps are conservatively rated (but so are speakers...), with old Marshalls sometimes pumping out almost double their wattage rating. I don't dime the Remedy, I generally have the High/Normal volumes at 2 o'clock and 12 o'clock, respectively. Should I be concerned?

I used to play with a guy who had two greenbacks in a 2x12 with a 50 watt plexi, and they held up to the blast... and the Rem doesn't put out that much juice, thank God. Crank away!

Information from Avatar Speakers:
Q: When you use a 30 watt speaker with a 60 watt speaker of same ohm and SPL sensitivity, why doesn't the power rating add up to 90 watts?
A: Because half of the signal is going to be evenly distributed among the two speakers, you don't want to put any more power than twice the lowest capacity wattage into the pair....otherwise you could damage the 30 watt speaker. The two wattage's..30 and 60 don't sum to 90. A 30 watt speaker mixed with a 60 watt speaker makes a 60 watt capacity cab (twice the lowest one).
So it looks like 50 watts capacity was the correct assumption according to this.
I have nothing to back up this notion, but I feel like Dr. Z is among the few builders that accurately measure an amps output.
I have heard that most 100 watt Marshall's dimed are pushing out more like 150-200 watts. Again, I have nothing to support this claim, but thought I would chime in anyways.
