After a lot of online research, i'm convinced I'd like to get a z-28....I just can't decide on the cabinet....

Initially, I was really disappointed in the 4-10 cab. My first thought was maybe something was wrong with it and I had the feeling one of the speakers wasn't working. Well I plugged into it the other day to give it a second go and I checked the speakers and yes, one of the speakers is indeed not working. So you need to disregard my comments on the 4-10 cab at least until we get that cab in proper working order. I apologise if I have led anyone astray although I think I'm pretty safe in saying that the 4-10 cab would be more "american" sounding and the Z-Best more "British"....I hate using those terminologies as it invokes some sort of patriotic response but you get the meaning! The open back of the 4-10 and close back of the ZBest makes a big difference in tone too.

Ahhh ok. What about running a Z-28 through a 2X10(z10's) cab AND 1X12 loaded with a greenback.....Best of both worlds??

Have you looked at the Avatar g410 cab? for less than $400, you can't go wrong. I bought one with Emnience ramrod speakers (think of a 10" greenback) and I love it. It's a partial open back if that makes sense. Check it out, I'm a very very happy new owner (but I've only run a Mazerati and now a 6545 through it) www.avatarspeakers.com/
