OK, I've got a chance to trade my old Mesa MK III Combo for a Mazerati Ver 2 head. What's the difference between a Ver 2 and the Ver1 or a GT? I'm assuming it's about the gain.....
I'm loving my Maz 18's gain, when Vol is dimed, and MV is at Noon (brakelite-ed of course, I have neighbors....). can I expect similar amounts of gain? (It's a long drive to my Z dealer to hear one for myself, and I doubt they have a Mazerati V2, anyway).

A version 1 would be harder to find. I have a V1 and it rocks, starts to get hairy around 9, 10 o clock. The V2 has a bit more clean headroom while the GT breaks up the earliest. The GT from what I understand is a Hot rodded Mazerati. I hope I helped I'm new too but I'm learning quick.

I have a version 2 and love it. I originally was looking for a V1 but I think that I would have preferred my V2 over it anyway as I would not have wanted less clean head room and I think the V2 is supposed to have a bit more bottom end. Some one correct me if I'm wrong about that.

Some one correct me if I'm wrong about that. I heard someone mention the V2 having more bottom end but my V1 matched with the Z best cab literally shakes my house. The bottom end is tight, not flabby at all. The V1 has a nice smooth gain and can clean up nicley with the guitar volume pot. I was weary at first about not having sufficient clean headroom but overall I couldn't be happier. The Doc mentioned he might be reissuing the V1 with all the interest lately that is awesome news. ;D
