Hello everyone,
Well Ill start by saying that while im new to the site...Im not new to the wonderful world of Z amps. I currently own a Dr Z EZG 50(My go to amp) and a route 66.
While I adore my EZG Ive had trouble bonding with my route. I just dont like the tones im getting.
So my question is should I sell the route and by a remedy?
Im really going for duane allman tones with my marshall flavored amp. Peter green/mike bloomfield tones are covered by the EZG.
What do you guys think?

Allman tones are right in there. I can't comment on the Rt66 since I don't own one, but the Remedy definitely delivers those sweet Allman Brothers tones. And a whole lot more...

The Remedy is an impressive amp. Duane Allman? Sounds like the Remedy is what you need.

What, specifically, do you not like about the 66? Both will get you where you want to go, it just depends on what issues you're having.

I feel like the Route doesn't have the gain i need. Doesn't punch either. Maybe I need new tubes...I did buy it used. Overdrive just doesn't wow me. So im looking at a metro JTM45 or 50 watt, a germino massonatte or a remedy.

Ok....that helps.
The Remedy definitely is a bit more gain-y than the 66, and gives it up earlier. Punchy?? Well, the 66 has that lower mid kick that feels so nice, but the Remedy is definitely a wee bit tighter and has more cut....more "in your face".
I'd say the Rem is more aggresive, without being thin and whiny at all, so it's probably what you're looking for.

I have a Remedy...I've owned a Route 66.
The 66 has more of a lower midrange 'bloom' too it. The Remedy has an upper midrange aggressive voice.

I guess I just need a little more aggression. The routes notes kinda bloom...I need something with more kick to it. Im really thinking about buying a remedy. Need to sell my route first though....off to the bay.

Remedy should work great for you. It has nice gain, but is not high gain and the channel blending and 1/2 power make it very flexible.
Also, look into an SRZ-65 (more gain than Remedy) and the Hi-gain 2nd channel of the Galaxie. A bit more Fender-ish than either the Remedy or SRZ, but AWESOME and loud!

If YOU can do that, the Remedy can absolutely do that.

If YOU can do that, the Remedy can absolutely do that. Well I'm NO Duane Allman that's for sure...but I am a decent slide guitarist. Im gonna check in with TrueTone maybe they have a remedy in stock that I can test drive.
