Hi guys, I would liek to hear your opinion on this issue I have with my OCD... I sent an email de Fulltone tech but it's been 5 days and still no answer. Here's the email:
I have ODC V.4 serial number around the 24.000's. I was playing a few days ago and I noticed that my highs where somehow pumped up whenever I turn on another pedal after it in the chain. It's really weird since it was working flaweless. Let's say I have it on, as soon as I turn on my delay it sounds like having an EQ increasing highs. I tried it with my Strat on my Dr. Z Maz 18Jr NR amp.... I tried it with my whole pedal chain, with only my CMATMODS Deeelay after... also tried with my Xotic RC Booster after it... and still changes the sound... my other OD/Fuzz pedals don't have any problems dealing with those pedals... it's wierd... sounds awful, even though by itself it's the same kicking arse sound... I also tried different cables (I use Mogami 2524), on LP and HP, tried it with my Dunlop 18V and Morley 9V adapters and still got the same results... Only thing I'm missing is to try out a 9V battery. Have you heard anything related to this?
Thanks!

I'm afraid I can't help you about what might be wrong with your pedal.
I can tell you that, after purchasing several Fulltone effects (OCD, Clyde Deluxe, and a TTE), I e mailed Mr. Fuller with a very minor question about the TTE. He responded to me in a timely fashion, as I recall.
The only problem was that he was rude, and condescending. It was totally uncalled for. Needless to say, I'll NEVER spend another red cent on a Fulltone item. He can keep them.
I hope your problem is taken care of. Best of luck.

I've spent way too much on Fulltone stuff, even a TTE. Never got a response from Fulltone via Email. So, good luck with that one. Unfortunatly, I cannot help with your OCD problem either. Some pedals just don't work well with other pedals. Make sure your power and instrument cables aren't running parallel, switch up the power supplies, and try it with the 9v battery. You might find the problem through trial and error. Good luck.

i hear its a buffer problem... mine makes my other pedals sound thin when stacked with my v.3 ocd

I had the same issue. OCD sounds great alone, but on my board it makes my entire rig sound like it's going through a computer sound card (thin, high, digital-like...). I've heard that the OCD's input and output buffer's are the culprit and act up with certain pedals' buffers.
I think I found the problem was worse if the stacked pedal was before the OCD. I also had issues running the OCD into a delay or vibe...

I have the V4 OCD and don't have those issues with it. I'm not really sold on it as a good sounding OD pedal but it doesn't increase or change the tone when other pedals are engaged with it.

Hello all... thanks for the help, and sorry for the late response....
The weird thing is that the OCD is giving me this issue without any buffered pedal in the chain..
Guitar-OCD-RC Booster-Dr.Z
Guitar-OCD-Deeelay-Dr.Z
Both ways i have the same problem... The other thing is that I've had this pedal for more than a year now, always running with my Boss Tu2 in the chain... I actually used it with a Boss DD3 for a while and other buffered pedals and it never gave me this kind of issue.... It was something that happened one day, I connected my setup and Bam! there was this new awful sound.
Mike Fuller answered my email after I contacted Sales.... but it was kinda difiicult with the him.... I was very specific in every email I wrote, and he kept telling me it was a buffered pedal when I told him from the beggining It gave the same issue without the TU-2... after a bunch of emails this is what he told me:
"sounds like the delay that's after the OCD's interacting in a bad way with the OCD?
try it without delay, then decide if the OCD goes or the delay goes."
I know it's not the way they interact... I've played this two pedals for about a year. On this video I was using the following setup:
Guitar-Boss Tu-2- Deluxe Signacomp-Signadrive-OCD (18V on HP)-CrunchBox-RC Booster-Deeelay-amp
On minute 3:44 I play a solo... I had the Signacomp, OCD, RC Booster and Deeelay on for that solo. If today I use the booster and the Delay with the same setup it will sound like **** for sure... the repeats will sound overdistorted and very very very present... a lot of "eardrum breaking" highs.... That day I had the delay level at noon... today 9oclock is way to harsh, present, simply not right...
Still got to try it out with battery! I forgot! I'll be back with news...

You're not alone here, my OCD V2 had a poblem with Boss pedals after it in the chain. Some low end frequencies dissappeared leaving a very tinny high end like what you describe.I tried every Boss pedal at my disposal and got the same result so had to retire my old DM2 in favor of a Retrosonic delay and stopped using an old CE2. I've more recently used an OCD V4 and not had that same issue tho. I'd agree there's some odd interaction between buffers.
