Hi guys, any suggestions? I need to get these Mesa tubes out of my SRZ and put some decent ones in. I'm looking for a good Texas blues/rock type tone w/ some headroom too. I don't want too early of a breakup either. I've been eyeing some Siemens or Svets but the new Svets are just EH's. Any help would be appreciated!
Gracias!
John

Johnny, I have "winged C" Svetlanas in my SRZ-65. When I bought it, it still had the original Groove Tubes. I feel like the Svets are a little glassier, but give less volume overall than the Groove Tubes. Of course the amp was still pretty new to me at that point, and I didn't have it dialed in yet, so I might be completely off-base, too Edited to add that I had Flynn Guitars re-bias the amp to accept the Svet's. Also according to Myles, to get the full 60/65 watts out of the head you need to use the following Grooves Tubes, but since you're using the Mass (right?) I don't know if that's important to you. from his site, regarding tubes for the SRZ-65 www.guitaramplifierblueprinting.com/doctorzamps4.html "One duet (2) GT-E34LS #5 - #6 * *These are only available from Groove Tubes as they are GT's tooling and design. These are from the JJ factory, but off GT developed tooling. They have more plate mass than other EL34 tubes, including the JJ E34L. Visually they are identified by heat sink wings on the plate assembly. These are 30 watt tubes. All other EL34 and E34L tubes are 25 watt tubes."

I only use the stock E34LS in a #6 rating biased at 60% ID depending on plate voltage.
