In general the Route 66 is my sound, but I do occasionally miss the glassy cleans of an EL84 amp.
Anyone see any problems?

Apparently nobody knows about this. I would try THD.

Just my opinion, but everytime I hear the yellow jackets they seem to thin the amp out way to much. I think for the Route 66 which is designed to be fat it would just be self defeating. Pick up a used Camen Ghia if you want the el84 sound, or if you are really strapped for cash the Peavey Classic 30 is great if you are on a budget... its not a Z but used for around $300 not bad.

I bought some Yellow Jackets when they first came out and didn't care for the way they stripped out the mids and low end either. It made whatever amp I used them with sound like a completely different amp. That may be what some people want but I didn't like it at all.
