I was playing the amp...shut it down to switch cabs...over to a 4ohm, moved the cable to the 4ohm out, double checked everything, flipped the switch and with a quick flash of light, the amp shut off...any takers as to what this could be? Just put band new (in package) KT66HP's in there (with about 4 hours on them) and all other tubes except the EF86 were new as well (10 hours or so.) I checked the fuse and it is gone...like a freight train...gone like yesterday...sorry, my Montgomery Gentry came out...
Any case, anyone have ideas? I am thinking either I lost a KT66 or I lost the recto (new JJ).
Thoughts, wisdom, and consolations would be much appreciated...

I seem to remember a thread posted about someone having fuses blow on them pretty frequently and the reply was to the effect of "the only thing that consistantly blow fuses would be the rectifier being shot. If I had to guess (and this is only a guess) I would say the rectifier is smoked. I will try to find the thread and get right back to ya - hold on second - be right back.

check out "blowin' some fuses" in the Maz38Sr. forum. It is not exactly the same issue but I think it will be a great starting point for you - good luck and I hope this helps you.
