I'm real curious about the JAZ. After using my Remedy most of the time, I played our last two gigs with my MAZ18 - a nice grab and go combo. Carrying a combo instead of a head and cab spoiled me.
I've got a couple questions about the JAZ. Does the 1x12 combo really weigh 60 lbs? (I think the spec on the MAZ is 47 lbs.)
Can you get Remedy tones out of the JAZ? I would assume you can, along with a wide variety of others due to the MAZ tone stack.
Is the JAZ the kind of amp that you'd sell everything else to own? I'm thinking a JAZ combo might be able to replace my Remedy and MAZ. Does that sound about right, or am I making too much of a good thing?

Ches: I have never played a Remedy to compare the Jaz - but to answer your questions: - Yes it is heavy but worth it - It can overdrive nicely (or my version of overdrive) - I crank up the preamp volume for songs I need a little more bite You can hear some of the range of tones from our videos we shot at the Noodle last week www.houndstoothblues.com/video/

You guys sound great (great tone / tight), and I totally dig your singers voice. Thanks for the link.
I've decided to try my Remedy as a combo before I do anything drastic, like sell everything and buy a JAZ!

After over two years with my belowed maz jr 2x12nr I now also have a jaz 1x12.- g 12 h - (yes the jaz feels to have the same weight) Its a great amp,for me its a more modern amp,a little bit quicker/harder vs maz . (But its great in a band, you been heard.) Tonight i put in a Tone Tubby h1.its mellow down the amp.fine for my type of playing. Blues.Had to adjust bass from max with Celestion to 11/o clock With Tone Tubby ( stratt player ) .Huge different. After mounting Tone tubby the jaz almost sound like the maz I like both. Next gig i realy dont know Jaz Or Maz . One thing i realy like with the jaz.dont need any pedal . just dial with master/volum-breakelite to taste. (But to remedy i dont know)

Ches, I just tried a Jaz today and put up a post on my impressions. I'm hoping to keep my Maz JR and add the Jaz but if I can't make the money work, I may sell the Maz for the Jaz, I can't even believe I'm saying that because I love the Maz. Anyway, I thought the Jaz was that good.

Thanks for the comments Stratt and Bluez (glad to read your impressions, too). Even though I've committed to trying my Remedy as a 2x12 combo, I'll keep an eye out for a JAZ combo so I can compare the two.
The problem is, the Doc does such a great job building these amps, it's tough to decide which one's to go with!

Yes, I agree the Doc has definitely given us some great tools of the trade and makes the decision process rather challenging. From what I've heard of the Remedy, I think that the Jaz would be a nice compliment in a 2 amp setup. So I guess you'll need both. :-)
