Man..........I am listening to "Blue Matter" right now...............This is total signiture RT 66 tone with a les paul. I know there is a thing about Ghost Notes being "the devil" , but, they are all over this recording and I "likes" it!!!!!!!
I also own that Howlers CD and its got RT 66 all over it...........
So.........what are some other recordings you guys can think of with signiture RT 66 tone? (other than beano) Maybe The whole "Truth " album by Jeff Beck............oh yeah.......I just clicked on "Let Me Love You Baby" on my I-tunes. I hear Rt 66 all over that........especially when Jeff Becks guitar follows Rod's vocal line........."Baby when you walk.........."
I get off on listening to songs where in my head I know I can get this or that tone from one of my Z's........
More RT 66 tones.........lets have 'em........

Bad Company's song of the same name? That's a pretty thick tone. Richie Blackmore's Rainbow Led Zep Ocean song, Since I've been loving you, Whole lotta love etc etc. Early Heart. Anything by the Jaye Christopher Hanson Trio ;D

I was getting the 66 to do a perfect "Ten Years Gone" by Zepplin off of Physical Graf,,,,,,,,,last night. I love playing that song because it sounds so good when you roll back the volume for the min 7th, maj 7th chords...........and then then wind it up for "Ga GA GA Gung Gung.........."
I don't know if that guy in "Cry Of Love" uses a 66, but, I hear the 66 getting many of his tones easily. I just recently discovered those guys. Very Very Great Stuff.
Oh yeah, forgot about the Jaye C.H. Trio...............I heard that dude just LOVES his 66 like its his best friend! BTW Jaye, my fiance and I were talking about honeymoonin' in Australia. It would be cool if we could see the JCH Trio play live!

Audley Freed was using a modded Marshall 50 watt head of some kind when I saw them live in '95 or so. You'd probably also like Brother Cane's first album if you like the first Cry of Love.

BTW Jaye, my fiance and I were talking about honeymoonin' in Australia. It would be cool if we could see the JCH Trio play live! We'll your in luck, my mother in law has a Bed and Breakfast and my parents have an empty self contained apartment. If you make it down to the "small island" we can hook you up with some accommodation. Best time is first week of the year. Lotsa festivals, warm, Sydney to Hobart Yacht race, big party time. Hopefully we'll be playing somewhere although we are maybe hittin the road sometime.
