I run a Z-Best with the SRZ now. ECC803S's in preamp tubes, GZ34, JJ EL 34L's. Mainly play a homemade strat with Duncan Lil 59ers (also wired with tone pot split for single coil or blend). I really like the amp and the gain available. However, sometimes I would like it to sound more like a plexi or early 70's metal face super lead. Meaning, sometimes I find it to be lacking the bottom end and round fullness. I've been fighting myself to sell it, but I always think: the SRZ is incredible for what it is.
I tried an early MXR 10 Band EQ and got great results. Now, anytime I want to fatten it up, it's possible.

You ever Try Running a 4x12 Closed cab? I use, to use the SRZ with an EQ. I dont use much anymore cause the bottom is so beefy! Try running the mids up about 7 and the Treble on mid way then run the presence up a bit, You should be in Plexi territory quick? I use SD SH-6 Humbuckers in my LP' and SG They really Crunch!!!
