So I've been playing my Rt.66 for about 1.5 years. I've had to change the power tubes once after the original set failed during a gig.
Should I worry about changing the preamp tubes soon? Where's a good source for the EF86 tube?

Don't fix what ain't broken but you should probably have a back up. Any NOS EF 86 will give you good reliability, they last a long time generally. I like the GEC ef86 but I don't like tellin' people that cause if everyone buys em they'll be none left for me! KCA have a good variety of Ef86's and Mike is here on the forum. kcanostubes.com/content/estore_details.asp?product=142

I put a Dario Mini Watt NOS in mine and it rocks.

I went ahead and ordered myself a NOS GEC EF86 from KCA....got a pair of Shuguang KT66's while I was at it too. So hopefully I'll have these new tubes in time for next week's gigs. I can't wait to hear em roar! I'm especially interested in the EF86 one, since I keep hearing raves about the touch sensitivity. Next time, I'll looko the Dario Mini Watt version.
