Sweet gear bajan! I can hear that guitar through the 66 Thanks, I love my Hamer to death. She has TonePros bridge and tailpiece and weighs in at 5lb 15oz. The playability and tone of these Hamers are amazingly good. I highly recommend them. Shane.

I love my Grosh Set Neck through the 66, but it's a heavy sucker! Love to have a hollow, semi/hollow for when the shoulder starts to ache! You can hear this combination in the "Sounds" section under "Hypothermia" album if you're interested.

Tas,
I'm loving the songs you posted! Great singing, great playing, great songwriting. Are you guys signed yet? Couple of questions: 1. What cab and speakers did you use with the Rt 66? 2. What tubes are you using? My Rt 66 doesn't have anywere near the amount of gain you've got going on here in songs like "My Unwanted Friend" and "Who The Hell Are They?". I would love for my Rt 66 to rock like that!

What tubes are you using? My Rt 66 doesn't have anywere near the amount of gain you've got going on here in songs like "My Unwanted Friend" and "Who The Hell Are They?". I would love for my Rt 66 to rock like that! Thanks for the kind words Guitarbrent. To answer you questions, we are in "discussions" with a company at the moment which is one reason why the album hasn't been released yet even though it's all done. My other two albums (Pre Z) were independent releases. So to answer another question, no, "Hypothermia" isn't available yet but hopefully it won't be too long. The cab I use is a stock ZBest 2-12 (V30/G12h30) My tubes are GEC EF86, stock PI, GEC brown base KT66, and a very cool steel based Mullard GZ34 (1954) BUT...I had pretty much the same gain with the stock tubes and the amp sounded fantastic. I also play with my bridge humbucker quite high which makes a big difference. My neck I keep low 'cause I like a more bluesy less gain tone from that pickup I recorded the amp with all knobs on 3 O'clock so it was pretty much cranked which is why it is rockin'! I can't remember where the bias is set but my guess would be around 34-36, but I'm not sure about that. If you try the "5" rated GTKT66's hp and bias a little hotter (Doc recommends around 28) I'm sure it'll rock for you. You could "ask Myles" as he is the wiz around here. Gain is sometimes deceptive, I actually play with less gain live, usually I play with the volume at about 1 oclock, bass on 3 oclock and treble at 1 or half past 1 oclock. It still sounds huge but with more definition in the live situation. I do use a fatboost for solos or the comp cut setting on the Fulltone Fulldrive. Hope that answers some questions, the Route 66 is such a superb amp. I love the way it cleans up and is never harsh. My only concern is that venues seem to be getting smaller and it's getting too much for some venues... Guess I need to sell more records. Good Luck and happing 66ing.

Well thank you. I really hope you like it. Now you need to post a pic of that Ghia with the 66, what a cool pair of amps.

LeftyLang,
Once you receive the 66 and have played it a bit, could you write up your thoughts on the 66 compared to the CG? I own a 66 and am contemplating maybe getting a CG (and keeping the 66). Thanks.

Thanks. kc Sure ...I will do my best but these old ears are ragged due to years of loud music, a 100 watt Marshall 4x12 Setup and years of racing very loud 2 stroke motorcycles....Pardon...What?
