Hey all, I'm new to the forum. Had my Z-28 for a year and a half and absolutely love it! I blew a couple fuses tonight. After replacing the fuse I watched the tubes when I turned on the power switch and the rectifier tube arced a couple seconds after flipping it on (prior to turning on the standby) I believe its the rectifier tube but thought I'd ask you guys before I did anything more. I had a tech change the power tubes out and biased it recently.
As a follow-on question - what's a good rectifier tube for the Z-28? Thanks in advance for your help.
This is my first time posting here but have enjoyed the forum for some time. It helped me make my decision on a Z. Playing it at the store sealed the deal. (Alpha Music in Virginia Beach, they rock!). The Z-28 is perfect for my style: blues and country.

Thanks Mr Fever. I guess it was pretty obvious what the problem was, when sparks are jumping around in a tube its safe to say its time to change it. I pulled a rectifier tube out of another amp I have. Same type of course. I fired it up and plugged in my Strat - heavenly! Prior to "fixing" it I played thru a couple amps I have (a tweed deluxe clone and a Matchless clone) They pale in comparison to the Z. The only amp I have that comes close is a pre-CBS Bassman head. I'm curious how the Greenback sounds compared to the 2-10s.
