I've had a FF clone sitting around here for a couple of years (it's a no-name homebrew someone else built for me...traded a couple of eminence speakers for it) and it never did anything for me. I almost forgot I had it, but today I spotted it and decided to try it with the Rt66 turned up a bit. Previously I had played it with my Carvin Bel Air and the combo literally did nothing for me...woofy and no definition. Now the FF slammin into a Rt66 at medium to max overdrive sounds pretty damn good to me! I'm just experimenting at home, but even so I now have a new understanding of what pedals of this ilk are made to do. The combination allows for shades of semi-clean (pedal off) to medium dirt (ff on, volume rolled back on guitar) to sweet sweet rock and roll grind. I like that the chords have all these interesting harmonics spewing forth, and playing solos has great string definition. This sounds like the ultimate rock sound to me. I'm gonna have to gig this FF pretty soon at full band volume...can't wait!

My 2 favorite amps with a fuzzface are the Matchless Clubman and the Route 66. At last nights gig I used the Bronto and my Hybrid Easyface. I loved the way they sounded. I was able to turn the amp up to a healthy volume too. It was an outside gig so I had my Treble cranked, the Basss at noon, and the volume at almost noon. I didn't have to use my attenuator either. The Fuzzface kicks serious arse through the Route 66, esspeciaaloly with a good Tele briddge pickup.

Yes, the Route 66 certainly loves a bit of fuzz! Or a lot ;D

Definitely. I used the FF clone for several months after posting this originally. Sounds pretty huge at gig volumes, and the clean-to-mean dynamic with guitar volume control is great. I haven't used it in awhile...I have to get the pedal back on the board and have more fuzzy fun with it.

I've had my friends ZVex Fuzz-Factory for a couple of weekends worth of gigs now and it worked really well into the Route 66. I haven't played alot of fuzz pedals but it sounded great doing "Sunshine of your Love" and "Are You Gonna Go My Way". When I put on the Tonefactor Hellbilly at the same time I got a wicked fat high gain tone that had me pulling out a few old Van Halen licks Good fun! I'll have to check out some more fuzz I think. Trouble is, now I have to give it back
