Really...
What's your address and what time do you expect him to arrive?
Just kidding of course. I've got a used 66 on the way. I'm pretty pumped.

hey laroosco,
I bought your Z-Best cab via ebay several years ago. I recall at the time you were selling a Rt66 too. How many RT66's have you owned??

The amp arrived today. This is twice the amp I remember it being. I can't believe how good this sounds. It reminds me a bit of the Z28 but so much better Thicker and meaner. And while the Route 66 is loud it's not that much louder than the Z28 and sounds better at lower volumes IMO. ymmv It loves my Strat and my 335, plus I played a RI Jazzmaster through it today with GREAT results as well. I'll probably be picking up the Jazzmaster soon.

That's good news for me as a Strat owner and soon to be Route 66 owner. What exactly does a Jazzmaster sound like? How is it different from a strat? I've never played one.

The Jazzmaster has P90's. It's just a bit bolder sounding. Similar but different. I'm not too good at descriptions tho The one I played was just a great playing guitar. It plays the way I think every guitar should. It's a great looking Lake Placid Blue w/white pickguard and pickups. I'm probably gonna lay it away tomorrow.

The Z Cab makes such a huge difference. I've been playing a ROute 66 at a local store. It sounds so much better than when I play mine thru my open back 2x12. And mine still sounds great.
Hope the Z Best gets here soon. I ordered it in mid April so Stu told me it shouldn'y be much longer.
It's worth the wait tho.
I've got my first gig with the 66 tonight. Wish me luck

What's the difference in sound between the Z best and the open back? I've heard punchy vs. open & airy.

DC here! Congrats to the Rout66 - its a fantastic amp as you discovered. Although the good Doc always makes very good amps - I think that the Route has to be a milestone in many respects. An all original unique construction that has its own sound. ( I have the the Z-Wreck combo to0 - also an awesome amp - but maybe I still favor the the Route66 ) All these difficult decisions - lols Cheers: Dixiechicken!
