Hey guys, I'm a new member here, I play in a band and our rhythm guy has been using a KT-45 for a while and ive always loved the power and clarity of that amp, i was a fender guy for years and caught the z bug so i decided to unload some gear and buy a z-28 and the convertible 2x10 cab. im incredibly excited right now. Though id say hi to everyone on here, i feel honored to be part of this community now.

Welcome and great choice. The Z-28 is the sleeper of the Z line of amps and may be my overall favorite (I own 4 Zs and have played many of the others). Take your time and learn how the tone controls work. There are a lot of great tones in that little box with three knobs.

Congrats and welcome aboard! You sure picked a great Z-amp to start with.
The Z28 may not get a lot of "press" compared to the other, more popular Z models, but it has a very loyal and well-deserved following.
Absolutely loves pedals too, so it's as versatile as you wanna make it.
Let us know what you think after you take it for a test drive!

Welcome to the forum. Just went from a Maz 38 1x12 combo to a Z-28 head and cab myself, primarily because of my back. Test drove a Z-28 and really liked it. Certainly a different beast. Tone knobs take a little getting used to for sure. Haven't gigged with it yet, but thimk I'm gonna like it.
Don't hear a lot about them on the forum, but that's cool. I always feel the need to be different and usually pick the least popular stuff. Hell, Teles weren't popular when I first started playing them. Everybody wanted a Strat. It's good to be weird!

It got here wednesday guys, I had it out in our studio practice space that night and just let it rip for a few hours. This amp is the perfect head for me, and I've played through pretty much everything. Never been so excited to play guitar as much as lately.

Cool! Welcome to the Z-28 fan club. I love the Z-28. It can sound Fendery or Marshally with different speakers or settings. Hard to get a bad tone out of it. The knobs are very interactive so experimenting with them was full of surprises for me. Enjoy!

Had our first club gig last night with the Z. The frontman of my band plays a kt-45 and I obviously play a Z28 now. These two amps together are absolutely amazing. I have never felt so confident with my tone on stage. The sound guy could not believe how warm my strat was all night, he said hes never heard anything like it. But as soon as we loaded into the club, the sound guy immediately said, "oh you guys play z's, you must be the real deal, i love those amps" I have never played amps that respond so well in a live situation. So happy with my purchase. Also I was pleasantly suprised how amazing my 335 sounded through this beast. Great show, great night, unreal amp. Thank you doc, you have aided me in finding "my" tone.
