Welcome to the Forum! The GTs have 16, 8, and 4 ohm speaker outs. Use the correct out for the speaker load you intend to use. As long as you use the correct load to the correct out (or greater load to an out), you will be safe. Some of Z's amps don't have a 16 ohm out, but you can use a 16 ohm cabinet because the resistance load (ohms) is greater then what the out (8 ohms or 4 ohms) is looking for. DO NOT USE A LOWER RATED CAB IN A HIGHER RATED SPEAKER OUT (4 ohm cab into an 8 or 16 ohm out). Sorry for "yelling," but you will damage your amplifier if you don't provide the minimum resistance load for the speaker out. It would kind of be like having your amp on w/ no speaker connected at all - Bad thing... There have been some stories of Z amps surviving something terrible like that, but I wouldn't want to try it. Again, welcome, and enjoy that GT. It's one heck of an amplifier... Rich

Yep, Rich is right - as long as the cab impedance matches the amp, you're gold.
