Searched the topic and found one comparing the Rx to the Maz Jr, but what about the Rx Jr? Seems like a very valid comparison. Being a proud owner of a Maz Jr combo, what would the Rx. Jr give me that the Maz could not?
Thanks for any insight.

Hmm, I'll be interested in this thread too, I'm between getting Maz Jr, or waiting for a RXJR. The RXJR will be a wait and more $$$ but I like the idea of it.

I know I'm speaking for him, but this is what Jason (jgleaon) sent me when I'm PMed him about the same question. I'm sure he'll chime in on this thread...he's all about the Rx Jr. If you can get a hold of Eric at Willcutts he can be a great help as well. He has played the Maz Jr. for a number of years and has the prototype of the Rx Jr. as well.
Here's Jason's quote...it really helped me. Thanks Jason!
. . . now I really like the Maz Jr, I use a Maz JR 2x10 reverb combo, and I'm contemplating getting a Maz JR head to run with the RX JR. And I think that’s what I’m gonna end up doing.
And you can call Eric at Willcutts as I think he's contemplating the same thing. He also has some real world/ gig time with it already and can tell you exactly what it can do.
If you looking for a really nice clean, headroom with the ability to get some hair... that’s what this amp does.
The RX JR to me had a little more clean headroom than even the JR Reverb has before it starts getting some drive.
The MAZ Jr (especially the NR) may get just a little more drive than the RX JR. BUT they MAY be a little more even than I could tell and it may just be that the RX when it gets some hair is just a little more articulate. The RX JR just has that Articulate RX ES sound.
If you've played an RX ES then THAT is what you will hear except at usable volumes. The RX JR through a stock Z-best or 2x12 open back with celestion blues is as stunning as the RX ES. I can't wait to use it.
A beautiful clean that is to me only rivaled by the Stingray, and I like the RX ES clean as much as the Ray personally.
And I also Still like the MAZ JR/SR and they may still be my all time favorite amps. They can do it ALL and with Celestion blues or a weber blue dog their Clean can get pretty dang close and good too, but the clean is still just not quite the same as the RX ES.
RX JR vs. MAZ JR = They are different from each other, but still close to and somewhat overlap what the other can do…while still being different and both great, great amps. You cannot go wrong. Either one you choose.
BTW I don't think the master is any BETTER than the Maz JR's except for the fact that I may not use the Master as much with the RX JR, The way I'll use it is the opposite of the Maz, instead of starting with the master lower or at about half way and turning up from there to taste... I'll probably use the Master on the RX JR wide open and BACK DOWN from there IF needed.

Cool, I was actually expecting the RXJR to have more gain than the Maz, but either way, it sounds like a cool amp. I guess I'll just have to try and play the demo next time I'm up in Lexington.

That's the best thing you can do. The nice thing about the Rx is it has a build in boost. I'm sure they sound completely different side by side.
