Unless you hear from the good Dr. , I wouldn't try it. I had a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier, and you could do that (pull 2 tubes and cut the power), but you also had to pull a rectifier tube and then adjust the ohms (if you were in 16 ohm, now run in 8 ohms). I don't think you should try it, unless like I said the Good Dr., Dr. Z that is, chimes in.

I had asked that question to a dealer, who contacted Dr. Z, about the Maz 38. the answer to that was no. The RX ES may be different, but I would say that the answer to that would be no as well.

Maz and RXES are cathode biased. Nevertheless, pulling two power tubes changes the impedance match with your speakers at a minimum. It's not really the way to get there.
