Sounds like it may need some new tubes. I would try the pre-amp tubes first and then perhaps the power tubes.

Why is it when an amp of mine starts making a noise I give it a b*tch-slap! The funny thing is that usually clears it up for a liitle while. Sorry to go off thread... I would have to say if its not a tube it's probably a cold solder joint or something making an intermittent touching. Probably a tube.

i probaly dont even have 20 hours on the amp, and never even have the volume very loud at all, are the tubes that unreliable?

A good one will last for years but occasionally they just go bad. Just get some new ones and save your old ones as backup, except throw away the known bad tube. Or swap out from another amp some known good tubes to find the bad one.

I've had that happen when a tube is not correctly seated in its socket too. Sometimes just removing the tubes and reinserting them clears up the static.

I have an RxES too, and I'll have the same problem when a preamp tube heads south. Start by swapping V1 and V3 with known good preamp tubes. If that doesn't help, try swapping the GZ34 - I had a Mullard that would start crackling intermittently. Your tube layout should be fastened to the inside of your head cabinet. IIRC, its mounted on the inside left by the PT (tubes facing you, front facing away from you).
Most likely its a bad tube. I wouldn't worry about it - tubes are archaic little designs and can croak on you whenever they please! Unfortunately, its the nature of the beast. But boy, isn't that tone worth it!
Good luck, and keep us posted.

ok so it was tubes i changed them no crackle then i played it about 5 minutes and its made a big static noise and i lost all volume i mean i had the thing wide open and could put my ears to the speakers it still made sound and worked normally but at only 10% of the normal volume its like it suddenly had a built in z air brake so I fianlly got it to the guys at nashville amplifier service and turns out one of my transformers blew up they said it was kinda rare to do that, and z is sendin one out ill post again when I gets here

But you do know NOT to unplug the speaker cable with the amp on, don't you? Doing that will sometimes take out an output transformer within seconds. Just make sure that if you want to unplug the speaker cable, you switch the amp to standby first. HTH
