Can I run this amp full into a light doped 50 watt Weber Blue Dog withan Alnico Magnet? Or will I rip the speaker?
I only ask as I've heard many comments like, "it sounds much louder than the 45 watt rating"

You'll be able with Celestion Gold ,JMO. RxEs is one LOUD monster amp.

I would have to say Yes.
Both are 50 W speakers and even though the RxES is LOUD and sounds louder than the 45 watt rating - that can be said of all of the Z amps - case in point - the Z28 with a Greenback is one of the more popular pairing - 22 watts into a 25 watt speaker.
Obviously if I'm off base, I'd appreciate any correction.
Hope this helps.

I hope so. My blue dog 50w alnico is coming this week. I'm using a single open back 12 cab. Rockstoc was using a single blue dog alnico with no problems. He mentioned that helped to control the RXES's volume a bit. I hope so as I'm airbrakeing mine on 4 and would like to run it without the airbrake.

Weber's are super indestructable.........That's the one speaker I would totally trust with the RXES. They love (the webers) to be "pummeld". Yours should arrive thurs or Friday Drew!

Ted's speakers are tough as nails. You won't blow a 50W Blue with a Prescription ES. Unless, of course, you are constantly running it at full tilt (which I doubt.) Even with the amp cranked a bit at gig levels, the Weber will be fine & hold together quite nicely...

I wanna know where in the world your gonna CRANK a RXES ? That speaker will be fine IMO, I ran a 30 watt Alnico with a Route 66 and ran the 66 at all knobs/3:00 on a lot of gigs...no worries.

I used an RxES with a single alnico 50w Blue dog for almost a year. No problems, I usually kept the overdose ON with the volume at 2:00...pretty much cranked...and worked my guitar volume. Like Drew said, rockstok shows up at practices sometimes with his ES/ Weber blue cabinet, and he is one of the loudest players I know! ;D...and has not suffered any speaker failure. As everyone has already said, you should be good.

I have cranked RXES envy Ditto I'm airbraking the beejeezus out of my RXES with the volume at 11:00 - noon, low input and OD on. Got my weber alnico blue dog 50w yesterday. Man this speaker is sweet in my 1x12 open back cab. I've not tried it with a full band setup yet but I'm really diggin it.
