I have a couple of questions on tubes . First one is do you have to use a balanced tube in the phase inverter ? Can anything be damaged if you dont ? Second is what is the difference between 5v4g and 5v4ga ?

You don't HAVE to use a balanced PI, but it is highly recomended. No, you won't do any damage to the amp if you use an unbalanced tube in the PI. The purpose of a balanced tube in the PI slot is to ensure that each power tube gets an equal amount of signal which allows the power tubes to have equal output. Check out www.guitaramplifierblueprinting.com for more in-depth info on phase inverters. As far as the difference between the 5v4g vs. 5v4ga, my guess would be that the 5v4ga is a later, updated version of that particular rectifier tube. Mike @ kcanostubes.com could give you a more technical answer than I can. I hope my answer helps some. Mitch
