I did a series of weekend gigs with my RXES confirming once again I made the right choice. I'm using with a 1-12 Z cab loaded with an old EVM 12L. It just works great for me! It love my teles and 335 and every pedal I've ever put in front of it. I'm a happy camper! ;D

Teleman,
I gather by your handle that you play a lot of Tele. I've been using my RxES with a variety of guitars. Most of the local club gigs I've been doing have been in venues where I simply can't crank the ES loud enough to hit the sweet spot(s). But during the summer I was on the road as usual with the Ron Brown Band (www.theronbrownband.com) playing mostly Tele (Anderson T Classic). We typically play state fairs, county fairs, rodeos, and the like - mostly outdoor headliner or opening slot gigs where I can open up the ES a lot more. WOW, what a sweet amp when you can crank it! And my Tele tones are delicious! Paisley, Urban, Mason. And the Strat tones cover everything from Vince Gill to Mark Knopfler to Henry Garza with real warmth and girth.
So welcome to the club! And crank that ES as often as you can!
Daniel

Daniel Same problem here.I dont get to open my ES up as much as i would like to but when i do i really enjoy the overall sound the amp produces on its own.I do use a slight overdrive and delay but other than that i dont really use any effects. Enjoy..................... Mike

I run a plexi shield in front of my ES which cuts down the volume comng off of the stage a bit. There is hole cut into it with a mike mount for miking it when needed.

I just got my RxES too and I've gigged with a 1/12 closed back cab with a V30 pointed against the wall and then angle it out as the crowd's ears adjust. I also bought a second 1/12 cab but have not used it out yet. For rock and country with Strats and Teles I plugged in the Hi input and keep the OD pedal on all night. I found for jazz with a hollowbody/humbucker guitar I use the Lo input with pedal off and it gives you a fat, sweet sound just on the edge of bight. Using this head with 1 or 2 cabinets gives you the best sounding, most flexible, lightest and easy to carry rigs around. I love this amp. Enjoy!

The RXES is a bright amp to start with IMHO and the EVM add a fullness and tight bottom to the tone. In a 1-12 cab I think the EV is the ideal spkr. I have a 4-10 cab due in on Friday that I can't wait to try with the RXES.

Gigged last night using the RXES and an Avatar 4-10 cab. The cab is loaded wityh Eminence Ramrod 10's. Sounded unbelievable!!!! But the cab is very efficient so it was loud and tought to keep under control early in the night. As the place got crowded I was able to crank it a bit and it was tonal heaven!
I think if the good Dr. made an RXES Jr. it would be ideal.. Come on Doc!!

Just got an early RXES, this amp KILLS with the volume at mid point, but that's pretty loud.
For my current gig's the 66 works better, any lurking here wanna buy a RXES head in black drop me a PM....real reasonable price fella's.
