I was planning on getting a RXES soon but was disapointed when someone at DR. Z told me that you could not order one with an effects loop. I run my delay&reverb through a loop and my drive pedals in the front of the amp. Do you guys just run all your effects straight into the RXES. I have heard that these amps really like pedals so maybe the E/F loop is not even an issue.

hiftbso, welcome to the forum... I used my holy grail for a long time with my original RX last in the line of my pedals just before the front of the amp... I use very light amounts on the spring setting and it wasn't noisy and didn't seem to suck to much tone .. sounded pretty good to me... but now when I use either RX, I will usually run them dry with a 2nd amp w/ verb... Ray or Maz Sr. I do still throw the holy grail in front of the GHIA and it sounds very good and is pretty quiet too ( I usually run from my pedal board to the Holy Grail sitting on top of the amp then right into the input... I usually don't actually have the Grail on the pedal board but I used to do that when I first got the RX... worked OK but I think the shorter run from the Grail to the amp input sounds a little better/ less noisy) I did ask DR Z about adding an FX loop to an RX a long time ago but he said he wouldn't do it because it would change the amp and basically defeat the purpose of what the amp is designed to do and how it reacts/ sounds... I got an email from Dr. Z and he said that the reason that he does not put E/F loops on the RXES is because with the EF86 in the V2 slot there is not a good line signal to tap into to use as the send. I have heard from a few people who run all their pedals into the front of their RXES amps and are very pleased with it so I guess I'll just do that.

I second that notion. Mine sounds great with all of my pedals in the front.
