I spent some time with a new RX Es today and had a ball! Just a great sounding amp that seemed to love my tele. I've put a few things up for sale after playing it. Gotta get one!

That's exactly how I felt after playing the RXES for the first time. Actually it was the first Z I ever played. Not a bad introduction.

After my 5th gig with this amp I'm really starting to appreciate it. It can do it all...I like the low input with the dose switch up for single coils. No pedals, just a wha. I have the combo with greenbacks and I think the thing that is working is that the speakers are breaking in and and they are not as loud as G12H's or V30's. Lets me turn that amp up..They are not muddy either if you keep the bass under mid way and thats what I prefer tone wise. Last night I had the volume up 3/4's, Treble on 3, Mid on 6, Bass on 4 or so. Was just right with a rock/blues band. I think Doc put greenbacks in the amp because its very bright and powerful. I have an open back cab with a V30 and G12h that I have A/B'd and they seem much louder...good and thick but the I keep coming back to the greenbacks. I'll try the V30 nad G12H combo one day but the sound of this amp keeps improving for me...why mess with it?
